The Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO) has posted a new Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Human Social, Cultural, and Behavior Modeling (HSCB) Program. The Program is managed through the Director, Defense Research and Engineering (DDRE). CTTSO is acting as an execution agent to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) for the HSCB Program. The new BAA, 09-Q-4590, may be downloaded via the BIDS website at https://bids.tswg.gov. **Phase 1 submissions (Quad Charts and White Papers) are due NO LATER THAN Thursday, June 11, 2009, 4 PM ET** Quad Charts and White Papers are being requested in the following area: Human Social, Cultural, and Behavior Modeling (HSCB). The Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO) is holding an Advance Planning Briefing for Industry on February 17, 2009. CTTSO rapidly develops combating terrorism solutions to meet continually evolving requirements defined by end users. CTTSO staff will brief R & D requirements that will be advertised using a Broad Agency Announcement and subsequently funded in the coming fiscal year. Identical briefs are scheduled for the morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session begins at 7:00 AM for registration and continental breakfast. The Technical Support Working Group, of the Combating Terrorism Technology Support Office, is pleased to announce it is a sponsor of the Force Protection Equipment Demonstration VII. The FPED VII objective is to provide leaders and decision-makers from DoD, Federal departments and agencies, and applicable state and local law enforcement and corrections agencies the opportunity to observe and become familiar with COTS force protection equipment available for procurement and testing within 90 days of the demonstration. The unclassified demonstration is NOT open to the public, and is intended for DoD, Federal departments and agencies, and state and local law enforcement and corrections agencies. Register online.

An important part of advancing the science of science policy is getting scientists and engineers to engage with social scientists in studying science policy within the context of their domain disciplines. The SciSIP program underwrites fundamental research that creates new explanatory models, analytic tools and datasets designed to inform the nation's public and private sectors about the processes through which investments in science and engineering (S&E) research are transformed into social and economic outcomes. Biometrics BAA Announcement

The Army Research Laboratory, in support of Defense Biometrics, has just released an amendment to their Broad Agency Announcement for Basic and Applied Scientific Research (W9111NF-07-R-0001). The amendment requests proposals for unique and innovative research for biometric identification research. It is DoD's intent to advance the state-of-the-art across the spectrum of the biometrics infrastructure to provide users with new and enhanced capabilities. The mission of TSWG is to conduct the U.S. National Interagency Research and Development (R&D) Program for combating terrorism. TSWG staff will brief R & D requirements that will be advertised using a Broad Agency Announcement and subsequently funded in the coming fiscal year. Threat Day is the kickoff for the CTTSO FY 2009 Business Planning Cycle commencing a bottom-to-top approach for evaluating technology programs that characterize the National Combating Terrorism Research and Development Program. CTTSO continues its business planning cycle with a full round of requirements meetings occurring through January. The security classification level for these briefings is SECRET and attendance is restricted to invitees only.
